Agonda Beach – Things You Need to Know Before Visiting

In South Goa, between the beach of Cola Beach and Palolem which is another popular beach in Goa, Agonda is a very picturesque beach. Agonda beach is 70.3 km from Panaji, while Margao is 39.2 km from NH 66. Margao is about an hour from Vasco da Gama and a half. It's only 15 minutes away from Palolem beach.

The beach continues to be isolated all year round and is a good choice for people who want to avoid the busy urban lifestyle and daily routine. The waters are a little humpy, but they are perfect to sunbathe and relax. Bars, restaurants, and shacks are available, yet an isolated place can be easily found. Palolem is a better partying place but Agonda is less expensive and hassle-free. Here there are relatively fewer tourists, making it a quieter and more pristine beach. It is sometimes referred to as the Silent Beach. There's a far less' tourist' atmosphere here.

It's a 2-kilometer long beach. The shore is lined with palm groves. The beach, where many hotels, resorts, and villas are located, is parallel to a road. There is also a wide variety of shops, bars, restaurants, wine shops, car/bike rental shops, and ATMs. However, the markets are not overcrowded. In the middle of the beach is a church. The tourist facility has been well developed, but the beach remains unclouded and romantic.

There is a turtle center on the north end for the protection of valuable Ridley olives. These endangered animals arrive in large numbers every September to lay their eggs to give birth to babies and to join adults.

Best Time To Visit Agonda

The best time to visit the beach of Agonda is during the winter season from November to February. It's more enjoyable. Even at the peak of December, it isn't too crowded. The monsoon has very few tourist facilities. The shacks are closed to the beach. The majority are also closed restaurants, shops, and pubs.

Weather

The months of the summer are hot. The opportunity of a thundershower some days late afternoon or at night! Between the middle of June and the beginning of September, the monsoon is much wealthier. The humidity is high. But late nights and early mornings are nice. Agonda isn't the best beach to swim, as the sea is sumptuous. It can be sub-contractual. In the monsoon, the waves are getting higher. So avoiding swimming is best. The winter is a wonderful time.   

Best Things To Do At Agonda

• The Beach – It's a clean, broad, picturesque, and extremely peaceful beach.  Enjoy the beauty of the beach. Please spend a relaxed day here, sunbathe and enjoy a massage. However, swimming is not recommended. Visit the north side of the beach at the turtle center. The endangered Olive Ridley Turtles can be seen in September. Take a look at the unique rock formations in the South.
• Palolem – Palolem is just 15 minutes away from the most well-known beach in the south of Goa. Visit Palolem to see and enjoy the beach. Palolem is a hot party destination. There is also the lagoon to visit Cola Beach and also the small but lovely Butterfly beach.
• Yoga – Register in the Shiva Yoga Center for yoga classes. For the lesson of spirituality, Agonda is little enough. There are never a lot of people there. Loud nightclubs are not available. Learn about yoga gurus as the calm sea waters surround you.
• Ayurvedic Spa – The Bio Veda Ayurvedic Spa is the perfect place to relax. Select hand and foot massages sirodara and other authentic Ayurvedic therapies.
• Chapoli Dam – This beautiful dam, a large water body, is 10.5 kilometers away from the beach of Agonda. It lies within a picturesque mountain valley. In the water are many fish. The Chapoli Dam is a great beach getaway.
• Conco Island – The Canacona Island or Monkey Island also came to be known because of the enormous number of singes on this wooded island. It is nearer to Palolem, but from Agonda you can visit still. From Palolem, you can easily go on low tide to the island. You can also swim through the canal. Or in high tide, you could take a ferry.
• Cabo De Rama Fort – A good fort just north of Agonda, just outside Cola beach! You can have great views of the beach of Colva and the stretch of Canacona. Inside the fortification is a church of St. Anthony.

Nightlife Of Agonda Beach

This is not the best nightlife beach in Goa. Discos or nightclubs are not available. At most, there are some shacks that play music. But Palolem is very close, which is the capital of South Goa's party. Go on Palolem-Agonda Road to Leopard Valley. This is one of Goa's most important outdoor dance clubs. It's open from November to March. There are other major nightclubs and discos in South Goa, including Benaulim's Club Zoya, Margao's Underground Pub, Silent Noise Club, and Margarita Club.

Best Restaurants In Agonda

North and South Indian, Konkani, Chinese, Italian, Continental, and seafood are a wide range of drinks and food options available at Agonda Beach.

• Blue Planet Café – A vegan coffee shop between the Agonda and Palolem. The casino offers smoothies, cocktails, juices, salads, and vegetarian cuisine, run by a couple. Depending on the availability of fresh ingredients, the menu changes each day.
• La Dolce Vita – This is an Italian restaurant on Agonda beach road which offers excellent pizzas, pasta, tiramisu, and other Italian foods. Try the genuine wood-burning pizzas. A great number of food choices are available.
• Romya’s Inn – This is the breakfast spot on Church Road. You will love their eggs, their salads, their coffee, and their cakes. Right on the beach is a cozy and charming café.
• Kopi Desa – It means ' coffee village ' in the Indonesian language, an ex-pat bar and restaurant famous for its Euro-centered menu. Live music is available.
• Madhu Bar and Restaurant – Superb choice for romantic candled light dinner, beach bar, and restaurant. The tables face the beach everywhere. Beer, drinks, and fresh seafood are available. Try the famous Goan fish curry and barbecue, the shark.
• Fatima’s Corner – Situated outside of the beach but another great choice of seafood and tandoori meals. Could it be a mackerel, kingfish, red snapper, crabs, or tiger creams – ask for the special of the day. Try the butter chicken and chicken tandoori. Don't miss the mint ice tea.
• Sand Sapphire Restaurant – A restaurant on the beach offering good views of the sunset. Choose from Chinese noodles and fish fingers, and steamed rice Goan Fish Curry. Only Rs 100 costs 650 ml of beer.

Shopping

Agonda does not have a large supermarket or flea market, so shops and dealers are not congested. This is why it is so quiet and peaceful. But all you need is still to be found. Restaurants, pubs, bars, food shops, internet cafes, wine shops, massage centers, and ATMs are also available. They'll be on and elsewhere on Agonda Beach Road.

Accommodation

The 5-star hotels are not available. A lot of people opt for a coco hut or a cottage. A campsite, one of India's cleanest, is also located. The night tents can be set up and food can be cooked on firewood. It's near the beach and has plenty of room. Both up-to-date and budget properties exist. Gardens and a forest retreat are also provided.

The beach has well-developed tourist infrastructure: guesthouses and bungalow complexes; pleasant restaurants that offer a vast range of foods and delicious dishes, shops where everything you want and need to find easily; other services, Internet, telephone service, and the exchange of currencies.

Olive Turtles Nesting

The beach of Agonda is one of two beaches in the south where olive tortoises nest. The beach is under federal protection and is a kind of protected area, so these incredible creatures are threatened with extinction.

Panchayat is a local administration that struggles to prevent the Agonda from being converted into yet another busy resort. The village tries to avoid a deterioration of the environment and maintain its beauty for generations to come. All you have been doing, or are planning, is very much appreciated for reducing waste, water, and power consumption. Tourists must remain silent in the night and not turn a lightning light to prevent turtles from chasing away.
